2011 NFL Mock Draft: Detroit Lions and Prince Amukamara Would Be Perfect Fit

Detroit Lions Would Love to Land Cornerback Prince Amukamara
The Detroit Lions know exactly what their needs are, but there may not be any value picks available where they draft, making their situation on Thursday one of the most difficult for any team.
From this vantage point, however, the Detroit Lions have an easy selection. That player is cornerback Prince Amukamara of Nebraska. The Lions badly need cornerback help, and Amukamara is one of the few shutdown cornerbacks in the draft, so the two fit perfectly.
Amukamara has already been discussed as a dream selection for the Lions, and it probably is wishful thinking. Unless the Dallas Cowboys and San Francisco 49ers both pass on cornerbacks, Amukamara to Detroit won't happen.
Then again, you can never count out that possibility. The NFL Draft is a crazy process, and teams trade around all the time. If Detroit's that worried about Amukamara being off the board, they can always be one of the teams that trades up in ...
