2011 NFL Mock Draft: Jets Acquire Akeem Ayers

The New York Jets are going to be one team in transition this offseason. They will have several unrestricted free agents at some point in the offseason and have already released the likes of Damien Woody, Jason Taylor, Kris Jenkins and the infamous draft bust Vernon Gholston.

Akeem Ayers seems to be slipping right now in the draft pecking order after running 4.8's in the forty at the Combine. But, at this point, he represents good value for the Jets at a position where Calvin Pace (5.5 sacks) and Bryan Thomas (six sacks) aren't providing enough pressure on the quarterback.
