The 2015 NFL preseason is upon us, and the San Francisco 49ers open up their exhibition campaign against the Houston Texans at NRG Stadium.
For San Francisco, this will provide the first glimpse into a 49ers team that went through a slew of coaching and personnel changes this offseason. Head coach Jim Tomsula's squad will have to answer plenty of questions with the regular season just around the corner.
San Francisco went up against Houston in both teams' initial preseason contest, and the game kicked off at 8 p.m. ET.
Houston got on the board first with a 58-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Brian Hoyer to wide receiver Cecil Shorts. And the Texans followed up with a converted two-point attempt, which gave Houston an early lead.
The Texans nearly scored again late in the first. But a standout goal-line defense kept Houston out of the end zone.
