New England Patriots running back Dion Lewis is set to take his first official step toward returning to game action after undergoing knee surgery in August.

Latest on Lewis' Practice Status Wednesday, Oct. 26 According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, Lewis is expected to return to practice this week, which means the Pats will have three weeks to place him on the active roster.
Lewis missed the Pats' first seven games this season, but he is trending toward adding another weapon to an already potent offense.
He was enjoying his finest season in the league last year before tearing his ACL, developing into a dual-threat running back who was flourishing behind Tom Brady. 
Rushing for 234 yards and two touchdowns in seven games, Lewis was most influential with his receiving, catching 36 passes for 388 yards and another two touchdowns out of the backfield.
