Dwayne Bowe Injury: Updates on Chiefs Star’s Quad and Return

Following the Kansas City Chiefs' preseason game against the Carolina Panthers, top wideout Dwayne Bowe is sitting out of Tuesday's practice with a sore quad.  
Adam Teicher of ESPN passed along news of Bowe's absence: 
Bowe is already set to miss the first game of the regular season after being suspended for violation of the NFL's substance abuse policy (via Teicher).
After catching 81 passes for 1,159 yards and five touchdowns in 2011, Bowe's receptions and yardage began to slip in each of the following two seasons. In 2012, he posted 59 catches for 801 yards, and in 2013 those numbers dropped further to 57 and 673.
During the offseason, Bowe noted that he wanted to come into training camp in peak physical condition so as to try to stem the downward trend of his career.
