Good For Him: Darrelle Revis Holdout Saga, Part 2

The first part of this series got some very, very negative responses. A lot of people felt as though my approval of the holdout was pushing it. A lot of people felt that the facts that I provided weren't exactly facts...but they were, and I still stand behind everything I said. Darrelle was promised he would make more money than Nnamdi Asomugha (the highest paid cornerback).
He said it himself in an interview. Revis stated: "I have talked to Coach [Rex] Ryan and [general manager Mike] Tannenbaum himself and they believe I should be the highest-paid player at my position. They understand that and I understand that. It is something that is going to get done. The Jets are family to me."
So like I said in the last article...Revis was promised he would make more than Asomugha (somewhere around $16 million a year). If he is holding out, that clearly implies that he wasn't offered that much. A broken promise by the organization...a holdout by the player. Makes sense.
