Green Bay Packers Claim DB Micah Pellerin, Waive WR Marcus Rivers

After reaching their roster limit of 90 players on Wednesday, the Green Bay Packers appeared to be done adding players to the roster.
However, after the Indianapolis Colts waived Micah Pellerin yesterday, the Packers decided to snatch him up, according to Bill Huber of The Packer Report.
I’d speculate that the decision to cut Rivers was largely due to the surplus of receivers the Packers currently have on their roster. With Donald Driver returning, the Packers are set with five solid receivers and still have a battle for a possible sixth receiver spot and for the practice squad between Tori Gurley, Diondre Borel, and Dale Moss.
Micah Pellerin is a great addition to a Packers squad that is still trying to figure out how to configure their defensive back rotation. Pellerin, an undrafted free agent, played cornerback at Hampton but has the size and athleticism to convert to safety, which is where the Packers currently have him listed.
