Is the Texans’ Andre Johnson Right or Wrong?

It is widely known throughout the NFL community that Andre Johnson is one of the league’s elite wide receivers.
Relying not only on his numbers, but his play-by-play dominance, fans can see the modern day ‘best’. Furthermore, his presence on the field is hugely complimented by his attitude and community work off the field.
With that said, is Andre Johnson right in requesting more money from Houston? Obviously the best deserves the most money right? Wrong.
Andre Johnson signed an 8-year, 60 million dollar contract three years ago. The Houston Texans, throughout the negotiation process, offered a smaller contract that guaranteed more money in a shorter span. Andre denied. Andre Johnson, being the winner that he is, accepted less money to free up team cap space.
