Jermichael Finley: Packer’s Biggest Draft Impact Could Come from ’08 Pick

While the Packers may use their last position pick in the first round of the NFL draft Thursday to acquire brute force, like defensive lineman Phil Taylor of Baylor, they also get their third round '08 pick back in a fully recovered Jermichael Finley...brute force combined with grace and agility at tight end.
Finley's own highly positive, if somewhat ego-maniacal-sounding assessment of his current condition, according to his Good Friday tweet, was, “Today was the first time since Week 5 that I caught a ball and ran routes. And my my my I look good.”
Before he tore his meniscus last October, Finley had 21 catches for 301 yards in just four games and had picked up where he left off after a five touchdown, 676 yard season in '09 with 55 catches.
His promise is so excellent that the Milwaukee Journal/Sentinal has already begun talking about him as a potential franchise designated player saying recently, "Assuming there is a franchise tag mechanism in the next CB...
