Kudos To the Lake Delton Police in Green Bay Packers Sexual Assault Case

As a Green Bay fan and Pittsburgh resident, nothing makes me cringe more than hearing about a recent sexual assault case involving seven Packers players. After all, we’re still dealing with the aftermath of the Ben Roethlisberger debacle.
When I saw the Associated Press release, one statement in particular caught my attention: “Lake Delton police have not released the player's name.”
When Roethlisberger was accused of sexual assault, his name was attached to the crime from the moment the story appeared in black and white. The name of the victim, of course, was held in confidence.
Does that not seem strange to anyone? I am certainly not defending the sexual deviants of the world, but when a case is still open and charges have not even been filed, it doesn’t seem fair that either person’s reputation should be put under the spotlight.
