Kyle Van Noy to Patriots: Latest Trade Details, Comments and Reaction

The New England Patriots have acquired linebacker Kyle Van Noy in a trade from the Detroit Lions, according to Field Yates and James Walker of ESPN.
Adam Schefter of ESPN provided the terms of the deal:
Van Noy has started all seven games for Detroit this season, totaling 23 tackles in his first year as a full-time player. He was a second-round pick in the 2014 NFL draft.
Lions tight end Eric Ebron reacted to the news:
This is the second linebacker the Patriots have acquired this season after trading for Barkevious Mingo from the Cleveland Browns in August.
Like Mingo, Van Noy represents a low-risk, high-upside addition for the Patriots hoping to upgrade the linebacking corps. Eric Edholm of Yahoo Sports discussed a reason for the move:
Although the 26-year-old player might not start for New England, he could provide solid depth behind players like Jamie Collins and Dont'a Hightower, who have already dealt with injuries this season.
