San Diego Chargers running back Melvin Gordon hopes to rebound from his tough rookie year, but it will take some time before he's at full strength after undergoing knee surgery.

Gordon Vows to Be Ready for Training Camp Monday, May 9 The Chargers' first-round pick from last year took part in on-field drills Monday but said he's not at 100 percent after undergoing microfracture knee surgery in January, according to Michael Gehlken of the San Diego Union-Tribune.
“I’m getting better. I’m getting better,” he said, per Gehlken. “I’m not where I want to be, but I think I’m ahead of schedule. I’m sprinting pretty well. I’m cutting."
Gordon also said there's "no question" that he'll be ready when the Chargers report to training camp in July.
"I'm not even worried about that," he said, per Gehlken.
