Nick Fairley a Free-Agent Bargain Again, This Time with the New Orleans Saints

For the second consecutive offseason, Nick Fairley became a free-agent bargain.
According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Media, Fairley has signed with the New Orleans Saints:
Despite his pass-rushing prowess in the middle of the defensive line, the big tackle twisted in the winds of free agency a year ago. He watched as former teammate Ndamukong Suh reeled in a $114 million contract with the Miami Dolphins; the dollar signs surely outlining his vision—the rising tide lifts all boats, after all.
For Fairley, though, Suh's contract was no auspice. The promise of a big deal faded with each passing day until he was one of a handful of starting-caliber free agents left standing. But why?
Sure, Fairley is nowhere near Suh's level, but he was a productive player in Detroit coming off a solid year. We probably won't find the answer on the field, though.
