Super Bowl DB Davis Joins Ted Robinson in 49ers’ Radio Booth

Eric Davis starred at cornerback for the San Francisco 49ers' last Super Bowl champion, and hopes he'll be on hand when the club wins its next title.
The former defensive back was named Monday to replace Gary Plummer as the 49ers' radio play-by-play analyst. Davis will team with Ted Robinson, who is entering his second year calling the 49ers.
Plummer was a linebacker for the 1994 NFC champion 49ers Super Bowl club that steamrolled the AFC champion San Diego Chargers, 49-26.
Davis has been doing studio work for Comcast, covering the 49ers daily operation for Chronicle Live and other Comcast offerings. He has spent the last three seasons as an analyst on KPIX exhibition telecasts.
Plummer had been the radio analyst since 1998. He spent all of those years alongside Joe Starkey before spending last year with Robinson.
