Tennessee Titans vs. Atlanta Falcons: Live Scores, Highlights and Analysis

August 23, 2014   ·     ·   Jump to comments

The Titans came into the game with a questionable defense and a stout looking offense. They left the game with little changed.
Defensively, the Titans started out looking like an improved unit, but mistakes took over very quickly, and the unit gave up a touchdown on the opening drive for the third consecutive game. The backup defense looks solid, but that doesn't matter if the starters can't keep it together.
Offensively, it was more of the same. Shonn Greene had a strong showing, as did Jake Locker. As long as he can stay healthy, the offense could be one of the better groups in the NFL. They'll need to be if the defense doesn't hold up.
The Titans ended up with a win after strong second half performances by both Bishop Sankey and Zach Mettenberger. Still, there was more to worry about than to celebrate from this game, even though the team came away with a win.
Score: Titans 24, Falcons 17
