NFL Mock Draft: San Francisco 49ers—Seven Rounds

As much as I would love to see CJ Spiller or Joe Haden holding up a 49er’s jersey on April 22, chances are neither of them will be.

Unless General Manager Scot McCloughan is putting up a smoke screen, he has all but ruled out drafting Spiller because of his size. His draft philosophy is to draft big players, and he has said repeatedly that he will not make exceptions to that rule.

Haden did have a poor 40-yard dash time (4.57) at the Combine, but chances are Cleveland will still take him with the seventh pick.

So, perhaps this is a blessing in disguise.
I took a bit of beating from some for not having the team select an OT in my last first round mock draft. I do have to agree it is the team’s biggest need. I just thought the players that were available were better (best player available vs. need) and that OT could be addressed in later rounds.

Forgive me if I have had a change of heart.
