NFL: Philadelphia Eagles’ 2011 Season Outlook

With the NFL lockout nearing its second full week, the possibility of a 2011 season remains in jeopardy.
Rest assured, there will be football played next season. There is too much money on the line, not only presently but also in the future, and both the players and the owners know this. But being the optimistic (and handsome, had to let it be known) gentleman I am, we will continue as if nothing has ever happened and get an early, early jumpstart to next season’s outlook for the Philadelphia Eagles.
In 2002, the NFL implemented a scheduling formula that guaranteed all teams played each other on a regular rotating basis. Each team is guaranteed to play six games (three home, three away) versus its division rivals, four games versus an AFC division, four games versus a NFC division, and two conference games based on the team’s previous year’s final standings.
