Rob Gronkowski was selected by the New England Patriots in the second round of the NFL Draft Friday.
Gronkowski was a star tight end for the Arizona Wildcats before opting to leave for the NFL after his junior season.
The 6'6", 260 pounder was the Wildcats top target his first two years on campus, grabbing 75 passes for 1,197 yards and 16 touchdowns.
He will likely fit in well with the New England Patriots as a receiving tight end. He has good hands and work ethic, which will fit in well with the Patriots system.
There are some durability issues that dropped his draft stock. Gronkowski only played 16 games in Arizona due to injury and illness, this includes all of last season after having back surgery.
Before the season he was expected to be in the conversation as the top tight end in the country and a potential All-American.
