New Orleans Saints Draft: 2010 draftees didn't contribute much right away:
While the NFL Draft is about building a team and looking to the future is often the frame of mind, immediate impact is never frowned upon. The New Orleans Saints didn't get much immediate impact out of its 2010 draft class.
As Brian Billick of FoxSports.com points out, Patrick Robinson (corner) and Charles Brown (offensive tackle) did not become starters after being selected in the first and second rounds, respectively, in 2010. Both should factor in more this season.
The Saints want to get more immediate bang for their buck in 2011. That is especially the case if the Saints address concerns along the defensive line at 24th overall in the first round. The pass rush was anemic for New Orleans last season.
Of course, expecting a rookie to burst out of the gate with a double-digit sack total is silly. But getting a player that gets a few himself and impacts the pass rush as a whole several snaps...
