2011 NFL Draft: How the Dallas Cowboys Could Land Patrick Peterson

This seems like a crazy idea. Before the Combine, almost every mock draft I saw had Patrick Peterson going second overall. Several draft gurus rave that Peterson is the cleanest, most talented sure-fire player in this year's draft. So why do I think the Cowboys could possibly land a player like that with the ninth pick?
Well, I don't think he will fall to the ninth pick. There are too many teams that need secondary help in the top 10 picks to think he would fall that far. However, the Broncos signed Champ Bailey to an extension, so they will probably go in another direction. Other players have soared up draft boards since the combine, like Marcell Dareus and Von Miller.
Also, even though this year's crop of quarterbacks is not the best in recent memory, I'm betting that at least two quarterbacks, namely Blaine Gabbert and Cam Newton, will be selected in the top 10. That pushes a player like Peterson a little further back in the draft. I'm not saying those teams should draft e...
