2011 NFL Draft: NFL Analyst Mike Mayock Projects Ryan Mallett to Go in the 20’s

A new report on NBC Sports reveals that NFL Network analyst, Mike Mayock, is predicting that Arkansas quarterback, Ryan Mallett, will be taken somewhere in the 20’s during this Thursdays 2011 NFL Draft.
Mallett displays all the physical characteristics that NFL scouts look for in a quarterback, and Mayock is also impressed with his football IQ.
"Because of his football ability and his football IQ, somebody is gonna reach up into the 20s and take him," Mayock said on Path to the Draft Monday. Mayock also mentioned coaches and personnel types around the league "pounding the table" for Mallett based on his on-field skills. Character concerns appear to be the only thing preventing Mallett from going top-ten.”
Other analysts and mock drafts have seen Mallett actually slipping out of the first round, but in my opinion there are far to many teams that have a need for a quarterback right now.
Mallett may be a risk but he will be a risk worth taking.
