2011 NFL Draft: Simply Put, Cam Newton Is the Top Prospect

Concerns about Cam Newton’s potential as an NFL quarterback have gotten more press time than Charlie Sheen, but I just don’t get it.
First of all, people have questioned his ability to read defenses, something that is supposed to be a big deal in the NFL, given the complex schemes he will face and the overall ability on that side of the ball at the sport’s highest level.
But seriously, what does quick and precise diagnosis have to do with intelligence? A strong arm is much more important when it comes to decision-making.
Then you have accuracy, another source of scrutiny when it comes Newton’s tools. However, don’t put too much emphasis on a thing like that as it pertains to completing passes. Let’s face it. Being a big guy who, relative to his size, can run like "Forrest Gump," overtakes precision through the air any old day.
