A Scout’s Take on the Center Position for the Green Bay Packers

Last Friday afternoon, I had an opportunity to talk with NFL scout Chris Landry on Steve Duemig's radio show, which was guest hosted by Tom Krasniqi. 
We talked about the injury history of both Derek Sherrod and Bryan Bulaga of the Green Bay Packers going into the 2014 season, but we also talked about the center position for the Pack, which will have JC Tretter and rookie Corey Linsley battling for the starting berth.
Recently, playing center for the Packers has not brought along a lengthy shelf life. In fact, the 2014 season will be the fourth consecutive season that the Packers will have a new starting center.
The last time the Packers had a center who started for consecutive seasons was when Scott Wells played. Wells was the primary starter at center from 2006 to 2011. Since Wells left via free agency after the 2011 season, the Packers have had a revolving door at center.
After Wells left, the Packers brought in veteran center Jeff Saturday via free agency. ...
