Aaron Hernandez Hires New Legal Representation: Latest Details and Comments

Former New England Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez hired Jose Baez as part of his legal team ahead of his double-murder trial.
ESPN's Michele Steele provided a statement from Baez:
Baez once represented Casey Anthony, who was found not guilty in 2011 in the death of her two-year-old daughter.
In April 2015, a Massachusetts jury found Hernandez guilty of first-degree murder following the 2013 killing of Odin Lloyd. The verdict carried a mandatory life sentence in prison without the possibility of parole. As part of the conviction, Hernandez was granted an appeal, and in July 2015, a judge upheld the verdict.
The 26-year-old is also facing double-murder charges. Prosecutors allege Hernandez shot and killed Daniel de Abreu and Safiro Furtado on July 16, 2012. Hernandez pleaded not guilty.
In December, a Suffolk County, Massachusetts, judge postponed the trial on the request of defense attorneys and prosecutors, and a new trial date has yet to be set.
