Anthony Davis Injury: Updates on 49ers OT’s Concussion and Return

San Francisco 49ers offensive lineman Anthony Davis won't play in Sunday's game against the Carolina Panthers after suffering a concussion.

Davis' Return Unknown After Practice Injury Friday, Sept. 16 Matt Barrows of the Sacramento Bee confirmed Friday the tackle has officially been ruled out of the Niners' Week 2 contest.
Eric Branch of the San Francisco Chronicle noted Davis suffered the injury during Thursday's practice and reported it to the medical staff afterward.
Last June, the 2010 first-round pick announced he was taking time away from the sport. Ryan Wilson of CBSSports.com passed along a statement from the lineman at the time about the situation.
"After a few years of thought, I've decided it will be best for me to take a year or so away from the NFL," Davis said. "This will be a time for me to allow my brain and body a chance to heal. I know many won't understand my decision, that's OK."...
