Are the Pittsburgh Steelers Too Conservative Without Ben Roethlisberger?

With Ben Roethlisberger out the Steelers are clearly in a conservative, “don’t beat yourself” mode. 
Play a field position game and grind out a win.  Fine, fair enough. 
When you play this style you rely on a dominating defense and a conservative mistake free offense.  The third component in this equation is Special Teams. 
What’s interesting about this aspect of the conservative plan is that you can either use your special teams as a psuedo-offense (make plays with returners, hope your special teams can give your offense good field position, have your Special Teams make plays because your offense can’t) or you can treat it as a defensive component (play safe, flip field position, fair-catch the ball, avoid turnovers and penalties during the return, etc.)
