Priced out of the game?
Any Charger fan who has been paying attention to football this off season is rightfully disturbed about the free agent proceedings. The debate amongst fans is split right down the middle.
As much as anybody, I tried to stick the "bad guy" label on either A.J Smith (Chargers' GM), or Vincent Jackson and Marcus McNeill. Every interested fan is looking for someone to side with, and someone to despise.
After great debate, I have weeded it all out, and dug to the bottom of the hole, and dug out the real culprit weasels, "the agents".
Yes, the agents! I'm not just talking about Vincent Jackson's agent Neil Schwartz, or just Marcus McNeill's agent Alvin Keels, but all of the agents of pro sports.
Does anyone agree that playing a recreational sport for a living is not worth 100 million dollars? The players and organizations are a vehicle that drove away from their fan bases years ago, and what's fueling the movement is agents.
