Brett Favre: Is the Third Retirement a Charm?

According to the Minneapolis Sentinel, Brett Favre is set to address his teammates of his retirement.
Maybe his ankle is not progressing as well as he expected after his off season surgery. I can't say I blame him. At his age (mine too), sometimes getting out of bed is a struggle from all those old nagging injuries.
That’s right, for the third time it looks like the iron man of football may be hanging up his cleats.
As a true football fan, I would love to see him play his 20th year in the NFL, however, as a Saints fan, I am perfectly fine with not facing the "iron man" to start the season.
If and what a big “if” it is, then THANK YOU for my 40th birthday present Mr. Favre!
Yes, you will be missed. Your 285 consecutive starts will live on as a tribute to the game of football. Although Payton Manning may seem close with 192, breaking that record is still a long shot.
