The third and perhaps last retirement of the legendary quarterback Brett Favre has come with much expected media attention.
Many feel that it is another ruse, or false retirement, and he will eventually report to Vikings camp close to the opening night of the season. Others feel that the injuries that have accumulated over the years, and during the beating he took at the hands of the Saints in the NFC Championship Game last season have finally caught up to the 40-year-old veteran.
There will be a sense of relief for Bears players and fans as Favre has reigned supremely over the division for the better part of two decades. Though the team has had some success against the future Hall-of-Famer since Lovie Smith came in as head coach, Brett Favre recorded the most wins against the Bears of any quarterback in the teams storied history.
