Bud Dupree Injury: Updates on Steelers LB’s Core and Return

The Pittsburgh Steelers announced they placed linebacker Bud Dupree on the injured reserve list Sunday.

Dupree to Undergo Surgery Sunday, Sept. 4 NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reported Dupree could potentially return later in the year after undergoing surgery to repair a core muscle tear.
The earliest he can return is after eight weeks.
Dupree sent out a tweet after news of his trip to the IR list broke:
The Steelers selected Dupree with the 22nd pick in the 2015 draft, and the polished pass-rusher arrived in the NFL ready to assert his dominance as a member of the team's front seven.
"I am going to make an impact," Dupree said at the start of training camp, according to Teresa Varley of the Steelers' official website. "Whatever I need to do to help my team win, I will do. Whatever coach puts me at, I am OK, but you always work to start. I think I can make a big impact, along with other guys."
