Cortez Allen Contract: Latest News, Rumors on CB’s Negotiations with Steelers

Cortez Allen is only halfway through the four-year, $24.6 million extension he signed in 2014, but the veteran cornerback could have to restructure that deal to remain with the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Allen Asked to Take Pay Cut   Wednesday, March 9 Allen has been asked to restructure his deal and take a salary reduction from the $4.4 million he’s scheduled to make in 2016, according to Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.com.  
If he rejects that offer, the Steelers may be prepared to cut him, per Fowler.
Allen was battling a knee injury all of last year before finally being placed on injured reserve in late October. He played in only the season opener. 
The former fourth-round pick also battled injuries throughout the 2014 season and was eventually benched for his struggling performances when on the field.
