Darnell Dockett to Retire: Latest Details, Comments and Reaction

Longtime Arizona Cardinals defensive lineman Darnell Dockett reportedly will announce his retirement on Monday.  
Josh Weinfuss of ESPN first reported the defensive tackle's decision, with Mike Jurecki of Fox Sports 910 confirming Dockett will sign a one-day contract and retire with the Cardinals. Jurecki later added Dockett will take part in a press conference at 2:30 p.m. local time.
Dockett hadn't played a regular-season snap since the 2013 season. He missed all of the 2014 campaign after suffering a torn ACL during Cardinals training camp. The San Francisco 49ers signed him the following offseason, but he dealt with a rib injury during camp and didn't make the final roster.
In January, the Florida State product told Vice Sports he was still keeping his options open while getting his body back to full strength after the injury issues. He admitted, however, that he didn't "need" football as part of his daily life anymore.
