Denver Broncos Leave PK Prater Home: Just Another in a Long Line of Calamities

Mike Klis of the Denver Post reported today that Denver Broncos big-legged PK Matt Prater was left home from the trip to Phoenix to play the Cardinals. This is to allow a nagging groin injury to heal. Prater had hit 16-of-18 FGs this year and had a career-long 59 yarder, which had him on the Pro Bowl watch list.
“It’s been bothering me for about two weeks,” Prater said. “It stinks because I hear it’s going to be nice and warm down there.”
Denver signed Steven Hauschka, who most recently was cut from the Baltimore Ravens after making only 10 of 15 FGs in the 2008-2009 season.
OL Stanley Daniels was cut to make roster room for Hauschka. Daniels had been an early-season starter at LG and was a backup at several OL positions.
Another in a long line of frustrating issues the Broncos have faced this year. And as if interim head coach Eric Studesville doesn't have enough to deal with in his first game.
