Giants vs. Panthers Saturday Night Preseason: Final Thoughts

Sorry I wasn't more active in score updates, I just got carried away with some of the subplots and, let's face it, preseason scores aren't always great indicators of too much.
That said, a solid win for Carolina, 20-10. They showed that their team has depth and that their defense can put together a few stops.
For Cam Newton, a solid if unspectacular debut. He made some great throws and showed a bunch of the natural talent he's blessed with.
However he's clearly still in the early stages of development, and can't be expected to go win games for the Panthers on his own just yet.
The Giants have a lot to look over. Their offense was decidedly lacking in quality. Their pass defense needs work (though the pass-rush showed flashes of brilliance).
Both teams will be happy that no one was seriously injured, but will recognize they have a lot of work ahead of them.
