How To Explain the Sheer Awfullness of Bronco’s 2009 Draft?

I thought the Broncos had an exceptional draft in 2010, although many media people panned it. However, there is no consolation to be found in the 2009 draft where the team used many more prime choices and came away with nothing except a workmanlike running back in Knowshon Moreno.
It's really hard to calculate the fail level of last year's draft considering the amount of draft capital spent. Probably no one symbolizes the bizarre quality of Josh and Brian's Most Excremental Adventure than Richard Quinn. Why? A guy who had 12 career catches. Not smart. Busted for domestic violence shortly into his career. Traded up at great cost to draft him in the second round. Fail, fail, fail, fail. Trading away a first round draft choice for Alphonso Smith who hardly played last year. This year it would have brought Earl Thomas who will get into the starting lineup long before Smith and stay there a lot longer.
