From NFL mini-camps to possible contract disputes to home run contests, former Iowa Hawkeye football players are making headlines across the country.
Former Iowa running back Shonn Greene might be sharing hand-offs with LaDainian Tomlinson this season.
Greene was stellar in the Jets’ playoff run last season, and has improved his game in the off-season, but New York didn't pick up Tomlinson in the off-season to have him sit on the bench.
Greene might not be a flashy back, but he has power and makes tacklers look silly, something Hawkeye fans know all too well. He is the ideal back for the Jets running attack.
Former Hawkeye tight end Tony Moeaki seems to be fitting in nicely in Kansas City.
Moeaki was the Chiefs' best receiver at tight end in the off-season work, something they were missing last year after Tony Gonzalez was traded. Moeaki will have to show the Chiefs he can be a reliable blocker, something he mastered at Iowa.
