Jahri Evans Released by Seahawks: Latest Details, Comments and Reaction

The Seattle Seahawks are reportedly set to release veteran offensive lineman Jahri Evans ahead of Saturday's deadline to trim rosters to 53 players.
Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reported the Seahawks' decision to let Evans go after signing him to a one-year contract in August. Adam Caplan of ESPN confirmed the news Friday, adding the guard has plans to keep playing in the NFL.
Evans played the first decade of his NFL career with the New Orleans Saints before the team released him in February. He has earned six Pro Bowl selections and earned first-team All-Pro honors five times, but his play has dropped off over the past couple of seasons.
Adam Lewis of the Seattle Post-Intelligencer noted the 33-year-old guard expressed confidence in his ability to become a key piece of Seattle's line after signing in August.
