Jay Cutler Autographed Football Doesn’t Get Single Bid at Charity Auction

Jay Cutler's stock is at an all-time low. This was never more obvious than at a pet-adoption charity event on March 26.
The Anti-Cruelty Society attempted to auction off a football signed by the Chicago Bears quarterback. But sadly, no one would bite.
The item did not receive a single bid, according to Phil Thompson of the Chicago Tribune.
Fortunately, the group was contacted almost a week later by an anonymous bidder, who purchased the football for $100.
In Cutler's defense, most of the other items the society auctioned off were theater tickets and spa treatments. Also, as Thompson's article notes, a member of the Society described the bidders as not much of "a football crowd."
A likely reason for the bidder wanting to remain anonymous is that he or she intends to give the ball to their son—a Bears fan—for his birthday.
