Jon Beason Injury: Updates on Giants LB’s Knee and Return

New York Giants linebacker Jon Beason left Saturday night's preseason game against the Jacksonville Jaguars with a sprained knee, according to the team.

Beason Injury Adds to Giants' Woes on Defense Saturday, August 22 New York Daily News' Ralph Vacchiano noted Beason's injury wasn't the only issue the Giants faced Saturday night:
Beason has had problems staying on the field in the past, playing in just five games over two seasons from 2011 to 2012 with the Carolina Panthers and missing out on 12 games last season with a toe injury. 
After being traded from Carolina to the Giants in 2013, Beason developed into one of the leaders of a Giants linebacking group that had been one of the weakest units on their defense, recording 65 tackles in 12 games. New York will miss his veteran presence, as he was expected to lead a fairly inexperienced squad.
