Josh Gordon Injury: Updates on Browns WR’s Quad and Return

The NFL announced Monday it reinstated Cleveland Browns wideout Josh Gordon, but Gordon's return to the field may take a little longer than expected as he recovers from a quad injury, per Daryl Ruiter of 92.3 The Fan in Cleveland.

Browns Place Gordon on NFI ListTuesday, July 26According to the team, Gordon injured the quad while he was training on his own this summer, and he's likely to be out a few weeks, per Andrew Gribble of the Browns' official website.
Unless the injury turns out to be far worse than expected, it shouldn't delay Gordon's regular-season return. As part of his reinstatement, the NFL suspended him for the first four games of the year.
The injury recovery will, however, affect Gordon's preparation ahead of the new year. NFL Network's Ian Rapoport noted the 25-year-old can still work out with the team during training camp and play in preseason games.
