Josh Scobee Released by Steelers: Latest Details, Comments and Reaction

Josh Scobee has been plagued by misses throughout the early stages of the 2015 season, and the Pittsburgh Steelers decided Saturday to move on from the 33-year-old. 

The Steelers announced that they parted ways with Scobee and have decided to add free agent Chris Boswell as his replacement. Boswell, 24, previously spent time with the Houston Texans and New York Giants, failing to make their respective rosters in 2014 and 2015.

The Steelers traded a sixth-round pick to the Jacksonville Jaguars in exchange for Scobee after incumbent starter Shaun Suisham suffered a torn ACL and replacement Garrett Hartley was hit with a hamstring injury. After arriving in Pittsburgh, he failed to flash the consistency that made him a staple of the Jacksonville special teams from 2003 to 2014.
