Kansas City Chiefs Matt Cassel: A Call For Fans To Support Your Quarterback

That's right, I said support your quarterback. I'll say it again, support your quarterback! I've been a Chiefs fan for a long time (I can't tell you how long because it would give away my age). One thing I've noticed about our fans is that we never seem to be satisfied with that poor guy behind center.
History of Quarterback Blame:
It didn't begin with Matt Cassel. It is a long standing tradition. Steve Bono, Steve Deberg, Elvis Grbac, Rich Gannon, and yes, even Trent Green. To be fair, most of the names on that list deserved our displeasure, but a couple of them didn't.
Rich Gannon filled in for Grbac quite a bit in the '97 season and did a nice job of it. The following year, he had more starts and wasn't quite as impressive, so the Chiefs traded him to the Raiders. I would guess the Raiders are thankful that we did.
Trent Green has the best stats of any quarterback in Chiefs history. He led Kansas City to a 9-0 start in 2003...
