Kansas City Chiefs Quarterback Matt Cassel May Miss Showdown Versus Chargers

According to reports out of Kansas City, Chiefs signal caller Matt Cassell may be more than just a little ill. After missing practice, it is being said quietly that he may be having a bout with appendicitis. This may explain the reason quarterback Tyler Palko is being called up from the practice squad.
Head coach Todd Haley said the move to bring the quarterback up from the practice squad is just coincidental, but with injuries in the secondary and on the defensive line, it makes coach Haley's claims suspect. Cassell has been enjoying a breakout season for the Chiefs and his absence would be greatly missed. Brodie Croyle took all the first team snaps in Tuesdays practice.
If the reports are true, you have to wonder what affect, if any, this will have on the team going down the stretch of such a promising season that puts the Chiefs within reach of their first playoff birth since 2003.
