LSU OT La’El Collins Cements 1st-Round Status with Big Senior Bowl Performance

Casual observers of the Senior Bowl or its week of practice leading up to the game probably are not glued to the TV, watching offensive line play.
It’s not a glamorous position but remains important to team building.
Among the offensive linemen to put his skill set on display this week in Mobile, Alabama, was LSU’s La’El Collins, who showed well and likely cemented his status as a first-round draft selection.
Collins entered this week with question marks surrounding his NFL position, as he started his collegiate career at offensive guard before moving to left tackle as a junior in 2013.
In fact, NFL Network analysts Mike Mayock and Daniel Jeremiah debated that question earlier this week. Mayock viewed Collins as having a right tackle skill set, while Jeremiah called him a fit in the “second-round area” and a best fit at guard because of his power and occasional confusion with unexpected stunts and defensive fronts.
