Matt Cassel: Kansas City Chiefs Quarterback Is Active For Week 15

Matt Cassel is active just two weeks removed from appendectomy surgery, but it's not totally certain that the Kansas City Chiefs quarterback will be the starter in Week 15 when the team kicks off. Cassel had to miss the Chiefs' game last week after coming down with appendicitis and needing surgery mid-week, and the Chiefs were unable to get anything going offensively, being shut out by the San Diego Chargers in an AFC West showdown
Now Cassel is at least active as the Chiefs go out on the road for a second straight week, to take on the NFC West-contending St. Louis Rams. Brodie Croyle has never won an NFL start, whiffing on all ten of his tries as a starting quarterback, so it would be a big boost to the Chiefs offense if Cassel felt well enough to take the field and start this week's game.
