Matt Jones Injury: Updates on Redskins RB’s Hip and Return

Washington Redskins running back Matt Jones has been battling a hip injury and will be unavailable for the team's Saturday night showdown against the Philadelphia Eagles.

Jones Officially Ruled Out Saturday, Dec. 26 The Redskins' official Twitter account confirmed Jones' status. Brian McNally of 106.7 The Fan indicated the news was surprising after the team listed Jones as a limited participant in practice all week. 
Per Tarik El-Bashir of CSN Mid-Atlantic, Jones said he got bumped in practice, which caused the bruise to spread to his abdomen. 
Jones has split time in the backfield with Alfred Morris and Chris Thompson throughout his first season in the NFL. He has displayed an intriguing combination of power and speed but hasn't broken through and established himself as the team's go-to rusher.
