Metrodome Roof Collapse: Giants vs. Vikings Postponed To Monday Night

December 12, 2010   ·     ·   Jump to comments

The Metrodome roof has collapsed and it most likely will not be available for the Minnesota Vikings game against the New York Giants tomorrow night. Note that the game was originally scheduled for today at 1 P.M. EST but was forced to be postponed due to severe weather conditions.
"We are currently exploring alternatives to play the game Monday night at the University of Minnesota stadium or another domed NFL stadium," NFL spokesman Greg Aiello said in a statement. "We will continue to provide information as it becomes available."
The two issues surrounding this is that the University of Minnesota's stadium is outdoors and doesn't have the necessary capacity. Moreover, the more they move this game back, the more it impacts the rest of the NFL schedule.
On a side note, 41-year old Brett Favre is listed questionable but will try his best to extend his record to 298 consecutive career starts.
