Miami Dolphins Promote Ryan Baker to Active Roster

Still in need of defensive end depth despite the signing of Lionel Dotson earlier this week, the Miami Dolphins have promoted second-year defensive lineman Ryan Baker from the practice squad.

To make room for Baker on the active roster, the Dolphins waived defensive end Rob Rose, who was claimed off waivers from the Seattle Seahawks on Sept. 5.

This will be Baker's second stint on the Dolphins active roster since he was originally signed as an undrafted free agent from Purdue in 2009.

After spending the first 11 weeks of his rookie season on the practice squad, Baker was promoted to the active roster on Nov. 28 of last year and recorded two tackles and half a sack in his NFL debut.

Now, Baker will join fellow backups Dotson and Tony McDaniel in an attempt to fill the void of starting right end Jared Odrick, who is out at least a few weeks with a fractured fibula.
