Monday Night Football: The History Of Its Theme Song

Monday Night Football is often the most-anticipated event of the week, as millions tune in to sit back and relax after a hectic Monday back to work.
While the game is obviously the main attraction, the Monday Night Football theme song "Heavy Action" composed by Johnny Pearson has become a very popular element of the festivities.
It's fast-tempo and has a very intriguing mix of instrumental skill, which makes it perfect to heighten the already mounting excitement heading into the game. If you haven't heard it yet, I definitely suggest you do here. 
The tune was bought by ABC in 1971 and was later established as the official theme in 1989. That same year, Edd Kalehoff created his own version of the song and it was also used as background music to the game's halftime segment when they would broadcast the highlights of the Sunday's set of games.
