New York Giants: Strengths of a Troubled Playoff Contender

Last season, the New York Giants faced a few giants of their own.  After starting the season 5-0, they finished the season 3-8 for a final record of 8-8.  A promising season with Super Bowl hope just fluttered away at the bat of an eye.
For the 2010 season, Giants' fans hope they have found a solution to chop down those giants.  One solution was hiring highly-touted defensive coordinator Perry Fewell from the Buffalo Bills.  Fewell, even though he was fired from the Bills last season, gave them great production on the defensive side of the ball. 
In 2008, the Bills had one of the best defensive years they had seen this decade.  They finished fourth in the NFL in red zone defense, and were able to hold teams under the 100-yard rushing mark seven times that year. 
Let's also not forget that Fewell served under Lovie Smith for the Bears as a defensive back coach in 2004 and 2005, which makes a very good fit for the Giants, whose secondary ...
